Head of Custom Installation

In our industry for 23-years, Mark Thacker came to Portland via Wyoming via Albuquerque, New Mexico with a fly rod and a dream of landing the elusive steelhead. When he joined Chelsea in 1997, we thought he was simply an experienced audio-video installer. It didn’t take long to find out he could build just about anything, and our customers have called on his special skills frequently.

Mark’s been leading our Custom Installation Department for several years now and was instrumental in bringing more very skilled people onboard. We frequently hear from customers that Chelsea was the best subcontractor on their remodel because we showed up—and finished up—on time. They like that the guys take their shoes off and vacuum up after themselves, too.

Mark is crazy enough to fish for steelhead in winter, when it’s snowing. He does this for the rush he gets when a steelie hits, comes out of the water thrashing like a bucking bronc, and then takes off downriver. Of course, he offsets that little discomfort for trips to Hawaii to visit his mother. Reportedly, there are now steelhead in Hawaii, so he’s likely to remain in Portland helping Chelsea give our customers the great experience they expect.
